Blockwick

The Kieffer Bros. have long created immersive and addictive puzzle games for iOS. Their latest instalment, Blockwick, features several puzzles which are equally as challenging. You must drag blocks around the screen to ensure that the same shapes are touching. It’s incredibly harder when there’s other things in the way. Blockwick is a great puzzle game.

Exceptionally Challenging
To give Blockwick some context, it was developed by the Kieffer Bros. In their portfolio of games, there’s a lot of different puzzle titles, each of which has been meticulously designed in order to appeal to a wide range of people. Blockwick is their newest title, and the Kieffer Bros. haven’t rested on their laurels. Blockwick features hundreds of levels — the first level pack is given to you for free, and it’s more so an introduction to the application. Once you’ve completed the free level pack, you can unlock the other packs at any time for 69p.
In each game, you are given a relatively small screen to work on. The underlying aim is to have each shape touching a shape of a similar kind. In other words, all blue shapes must be touching another blue shape, for example. Of course, it is made a lot more challenging by adding in walls which prevent movement of the blocks. Plus, there may be more than one colour on-screen. Throughout the different additional sections, you will see three new shapes in each pack. One thing which I do think is missing is some additional goals for you to complete in the game. I would like to see the addition of a ‘minimum moves’ counter, akin to Flick Sheep. This is an optional target, and it is the minimum amount of moves you need to complete the game. More GameCentre achievements (such as, for example, completing any puzzle under 5 seconds etc.)
The gameplay of Blockwick is superb. Once the developers add in more layers to the gameplay as suggested above, then it will become perfect. In terms of graphics and the quality of visuals throughout, they are superb. Each interface element looks stunning. The audio in the game is also very calm and relaxed, suggesting for you to take your time. If you haven’t already, download Blockwick. It’s free, and the additional section packs are worth the money.
